Sonja skillfully designed and meticulously specified the planting schemes for both the exterior and interior planting arrangements for the impressive portfolio of restaurants that belong to the Ivy Group. Below are a few selected branches where Sonja made significant contributions to enhance the overall ambiance through her expertise in planting design.
The Ivy
We are absolutely delighted that our design for THE IVY Leeds was featured in the BBC Happy Valley series. Watch the video below:
The Ivy Leeds
The Ivy Leeds, situated right in the very heart of the bustling Victoria Shopping Centre, features a stunning and beautifully designed Atrium area that is enhanced by its lush and vibrant planting. We designed magnificent palm trees to create a striking visual impact, inviting you to enjoy a refreshing and tranquil green feast upon your arrival. We truly appreciated that our thoughtfully designed planting containers can be seen prominently in the Happy Valley series from the BBC, as shown in the video above.

The Ivy Manchester
The Ivy Manchester features a remarkable collection of approximately 2,000 carefully curated plants, which are strategically placed across various levels of the restaurant, enhancing both the internal and external areas with vibrant greenery. Seasonal displays are thoughtfully changed in accordance with different themes, offering a fresh and dynamic experience for each visit.

The Ivy Windsor
The Ivy Royal Brasserie Windsor opened for the Queens Jubilee. Sonja’s design paid homage to the historic building while echoing the Ivy’s signature eclectic decor. She sourced a selection of antique pots and interspersed these with a planting scheme specifically selected to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee. Plants included Aglaonema 'Jubilee Compacta', Philodendron `Imperial Green', Dracaena fragrans 'White Jewel' and Scindapsus 'Marble Queen'.

The Ivy Chichester
This design is for the group’s Chichester restaurant – a Georgian building with an Art Deco interior. Sonja’s design was sensitive to the history of the building and its interior but made a creative statement at the same time. The scheme featured antique elements such as planters and urns, which nodded to the restaurant’s architectural heritage while adding a touch of eccentricity.
She also used planting to add structure to the designs, such as the cluster of medium-sized tree in the centre island under the sky light of the Chichester Ivy. The trees added height and a focal point to the space and thus created a more intimate atmosphere – one in which the trees interplay with the light from above.
