Little Gem Garden

The Little Gem garden, slated for construction in autumn 2025, is designed as a striking focal point in the heart of a lawn—perfectly placed to catch the eye from the interior corridor and create strong curb appeal on arrival.

The guiding principle: create impact by doing less. Its adaptable layout allows the seating to face either the open countryside or back toward the house. Even without furniture in winter, the space remains engaging— cobbles set into pea gravel form an abstract pattern that adds texture, depth and intrigue. Materials are locally sourced: boulders from a nearby Lake District quarry and cobbles matched to those found on site. A multi-stemmed crab apple tree offers pockets of sun and shade and the planting reflects the client’s favourite colour—blue—blended with airy grasses that dance in the wind.
